GAWAD KALINGA VOLUNTARY WORKs

Hello all,

Kpopcon organizers are asking for volunteers to help out with the clean up activity in Marikina on October 17, Saturday..

Meet up is in Mc-Donalds along Katipunan at 7AM

Instructions :
1. Volunteers should wear boots or closed hiking shoes. No slippers or sandals to avoid wounds and injuries.
2. Each volunteer is expected to bring :
a. One heavy duty shovel per FC( if possible)
b. Empty sacks for garbage collection / garbage bags
c. Relief goods (bottled water, canned goods, toiletries)
d. Walis tingting and dustpan if possible

Each volunteer is expected to be self sufficient. (Bring a own meals, snacks and water.)


Expectations :
1. You will be clearing debris, mud, broken glass and dilapidated wood.
2.. Avoid wearing jewelry and bringing valuables that might get lost. There will be no place to leave your bags so make sure you can keep your stuff close to your body.

A few of us have already committed to join but the rest might want to volunteer physical help too.

Apart from that, ShinPhil is accepting donations in cash or kind, which we could share to our needy brothers/sisters at the Gawad Kalinga site in Marikina.

Cash would be used to buy medicines and/or food, as well as donations such as bottled water, biscuits, dried goods, clothes, medicines, toiletries (sanitary pads, baby diapers, alcohol) and others are most welcome..

Ok.. am OUT of the list since my parents asked me to stay at home on Saturday..

But am goin with Mari (and Ting) to Makro to buy stuff.

I was told again also that FOOD is not encouraged anymore as they alrdy are being sent enough.. so maybe we cld jst bring bottled water.. then personal effects like TOWELs, soap, alcohol, cottons, rugs and medicines.

ah okay kung yung mga personal toiletires dapat nga sa makro, the thing is i texted people last night pero only got a reply from kay she can't go online daw pero sasama daw siya. and she'll try to bring whatever she can.

ako i bought na the boots today and the gloves. just need to look for the extra masks i bought nung papuntang kami ng taiwan.
